About Eddie - Founder, CEO & Group Oenologist

Born of Australian and Chinese descent, Eddie McDougall embarked on his winemaking career in 2003. He spent close to a decade working for some of the most influential producers in Australia, France and Italy before founding The Flying Winemaker.

With a passion for delivering wine education in an approachable and energetic way, Eddie has become a sought-after wine commentator and television personality. Eddie also chairs wine competitions and holds positions on commercial boards making him one of the modern wine industry's most valuable contributors.

Eddie majored in International Business at Griffith University and studied Wine Technology and Viticulture at The University of Melbourne.

Amongst his many winemaking accolades, Eddie is also the recipient of the Len Evans Tutorial Scholarship and winner of The Drinks Business's Young Achiever Award.
